The Very Hungry Caterpillar

I so enjoy each new stage of life with you boys. Just when I think life can't get better, it does! Each new stage is different and exciting. Your daddy and I are soaking up each moment right along with you.

One thing I love about this new toddler stage, are the fun activities we are starting to try. Saturday morning, while Daddy was off to work, I decided to try something different to keep us entertained. We had a very hungry caterpillar themed morning.

We started off by reading the book.

 

Then we went on a scavenger hunt to find our own leaves (you held on to your leaves very proudly and very carefully as we made our way back to the house). Using our leaves, we did a rubbing of each leaf and then using our toes, we made little caterpillars (oh the giggles and wiggles, as I painted your toes!).

 

My favorite part was watching you make the connection that we had made caterpillars on leaves just like in the book!

 

 

It is just amazing watching your brains grow and develop each day. Life is such a joy with you two, curious little boys.

First Haircuts

In walked two babies this afternoon, out walked two little boys!!

You both did so great! You spent most of the haircut shouting, "Hi Ry-Ry!" and"Hi Wy-Wy," happy to be keeping a close eye on one another. 

I just can't get over how grown up you both look (which is why we've been stalling this inevitable event). Sweet little boys, you're growing up too fast!

Summer Fun

I cannot believe another summer has come and gone! Students started school yesterday and I go back part-time next week. It has been such a wonderful, full summer for our little family. I am sad to see it end, but so thankful for the time I am going to have at home with you boys throughout the school year. Our lives have sure been blessed!
