Thursday's Turmoil

This week has been nothing but hectic, but Thursday was definitely the peak of it all. Wednesday was our current house inspection. Thursday, we'd be hearing back from Tse Tse and Aaron. Did they still want the house? Did the inspection go okay? Do we need to talk about negotiations? We had been warned selling to family could be a dangerous move, so we were all very nervous going into this day.

There had been little communication between Tse Tse and I, which is rare for us...but especially two days away from her wedding! We weren't sure what they were thinking, but definitely didn't want to put pressure on them to buy our house if they didn't want it. As the day went on, our prayers shifted (not knowing what they were going through), focusing more on a sign from God for Aaron as to what they were supposed to do.

Turns out, this was exactly what our prayers needed to focus on as this had been their hang-up all day (again, we had no idea of that!). As we were praying they'd get their sign, God was doing just that! What happened next may seem insignificant to others, but we know was nothing short of a miracle. Tse Tse had lost her favorite tank top exactly one month ago to the day. A tank top that simply says, "Happy." This "happy" tank had been robbing her of happiness and causing her stress. She said to Aaron, "If I find my tank top..." and he finished the sentence, "We buy the house."

After one month of searching, not two minutes later, they discovered a hole underneath the cushion of their couch. Inside that hole? The happy tank top!! It was exactly what our families needed; one final confirmation that both of these houses were meant for our families. And in that instant, happiness was restored!

It was such an answered prayer, being able to go into wedding weekend with happy hearts and answers to where we will all be living. It is amazing the way God answers our prayers, tailor-made to our individual needs. Finding that tank top was exactly what Aaron needed to trust Him. It was exactly what he and Tse Tse needed to bring peace back to their relationship. Thank you Lord, for continuing to bless our families in a way that is perfect for each of us.

(No better way to celebrate the unofficial selling of your home than with the season opener and silly selfies!)
