Fall Fun Festivities
It's here!! My favorite three months of the entire year...fall festivities, football, Halloween, birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!! It's just a magical, happy three months for me and I'm so excited to start celebrating.
Being that we're in the middle of moving houses, we haven't been able to decorate for fall, which is making it feel less like fall...not to mention the 85* weather we've been having too! Yuck!!
We decided, despite the chaos that is our life and house right now, we were going to spend this weekend celebrating fall!
Thursday night, it was off to Boo at the Zoo. Last year we went on a Sunday evening. And despite the crowds and lines, we had such a great time. This year, with our weekends pretty packed, we decided to go on a Thursday evening. Wow! Amazing difference. We practically had the place to ourselves. No waiting in lines for candy, and had you had the courage, you could've taken your picture with any and all characters without waiting in line. It was a fun kickoff to our fall and Halloween season.
Friday, after nap, the fall fun continued by painting pumpkins - another one of my favorite fall traditions we've started with you guys. (And actually, we were thankful for the warm temps today...no other way to paint pumpkins than in undies - easy clean up and no ruined clothes!)
Saturday morning, it was off to the pumpkin patch. We still love our tucked away, Mulberry Orchard. We've taken you every year now and it's still our top pick. No crowds. Smaller orchard just perfect for little ones with a playground, couple corn mazes, and plenty of pumpkins to pick from. And just in time, there was a small shift in the weather...it actually felt like fall Saturday morning! We headed out early and only had to share our hayride with two other families. Perfection!
Saturday evening, we took a break from the fall festivities to continue packing. Thanks to Nenny, you boys got to go hang out with her, Papa Donnie, Boo, Aunt Callie, Uncle Matt, and all of your cousins for a fun Saturday night: the park and pizza! It was an awesome evening for you boys and a very productive one for us.
Our weekend wrapped up casually with a relaxing afternoon at home, topped off with a bonfire and s'mores. All in all, it was a great kickoff to the fall season. But now, it's time to sleep! Whew - we are exhausted from a fun, jam-packed weekend!!

Scavenger Hunt
We seem to find ourselves in the middle of another nap strike (why?!) which makes for extra long afternoons. While on the way outside, Thursday afternoon, I decided to try and throw together a quick scavenger hunt. Thanks to Pinterest, it was just a minute delay, and we were back out the door.
I was doubtful that you'd understand the concept, but anything was worth it to throw something new into our day! Sure enough you both got it completely. You were searching so hard for the objects and would get so excited to check items off. We will definitely be filing this under successful activities to do when the afternoon just seems to be dragging!
