Happy New Year

In my professional life, I have always been very reflective. I am constantly tweaking things in my classroom and seeing how I can be better at what I do. In my personal life, I love capturing as many moments as I can whether through picture, video, or words to be able to reflect on these memories. So it comes as no surprise, that I love the New Year because it is a natural time to reflect on all aspects of our life.

It was around this time last year, after two weeks home on Christmas break, that we really began to pray for and entertain the idea of me staying home full-time or part-time. Here we are, one year later, and our prayers were answered. The most perfect job was created for me so that I could stay home three days a week. I have so enjoyed this time with you boys and watching you grow and learn every day.

2015 was a wonderful year for our family. Professionally, your daddy and I are in such perfect places for this stage in life. We have flexible jobs where we can be home if needed and cooperative bosses who understand and value the importance of family first. Personally, we have had such a fun year: your first over-night stay in a hotel / road trip to Indy, falling in love and into the routine of going to Toddler Time at the library, practically living outdoors this summer and fall, continuing to love reading and beginning to retell stories, getting a new family vehicle, and so much more.

As we say goodbye to 2015, I go into 2016 with great hope for what the future holds for our family. I go into 2016 with great faith that God will have some mighty answers for us for some decisions we may need to make. I go into 2016 with great faith that God will answer our current prayers and needs. I welcome 2016 with a hope of watching you grow even more. To think 2016 will bring us three year olds is an unbelievable thought. I am excited to watch your vocabulary continue to explode and your bubbly personalities develop even more. I am excited for our extended family and all the new year will bring them too. This is an exciting time in each of our lives and I can't wait to continue on this journey with each of them. I just love each new stage of life and all that God continues to bless us with. It's a crazy, up and down roller coaster ride of life, but it is a great life we have.
